What is a Voter ID Card ?
A Voter ID Card, also known as the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), is an identity document issued by the Election Commission of India to eligible citizens for voting in elections. It also serves as valid government-issued photo identification.
How to Apply for Voter ID Card at Our CSC
1. Visit Our Center
Walk into our CSC with the required documents and get started with your application.
2. Fill the Voter ID Card Application Form (Form 6)
Our staff will assist you in accurately filling Form 6, the official form for voter registration.
3. Submit the Required Documents
We will collect and verify your identity, address, and age proof documents for submission.
4. Biometric Verification & Photo Capture
A photograph and basic biometric details will be captured at the center for your EPIC card.
5. Application Forwarded to BLO
The application will be forwarded to the local Booth Level Officer (BLO) for field verification.
6. Receive Your Voter ID
Once approved, your Voter ID will be issued. You may collect the physical card from the BLO or download a digital version (e-EPIC) online.
Documents Required for Voter ID Card
You need one valid document from each category:
Proof of Identity (Any one):
- PAN Card
- Voter ID
- Passport
- Driving License
- Aadhaar Card
Proof of Address (Any one):
- Electricity Bill
- Bank Statement / Passbook
- Water Bill
- Ration Card
- Rent Agreement
Proof of Age (For First-Time Applicants Aged 18–21):
- Birth Certificate
- School Leaving Certificate
- 10th Marksheet
- Passport
Note: First-time applicants must be at least 18 years old on the qualifying date (usually January 1st of the year).
Processing Time
- Voter ID applications are processed within 15–30 working days after successful submission.
- You’ll be informed via SMS or email once your EPIC card is approved.
- Download your digital voter ID (e-EPIC) from the official Voter Portal.
