What is a Food License ?
A Food License, officially known as FSSAI Registration, is a mandatory certification issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for individuals or businesses involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage, distribution, or sale of food products. It ensures that the food you serve or sell meets safety standards.
How to Apply for Food License at Our CSC
1. Visit Our Center
Come to our Common Service Center (CSC) with the required documents and business details.
2. Choose the Right Type of FSSAI License
Our experts will help you determine whether you need:
- Basic Registration (FSSAI) – for small food businesses with turnover up to ₹12 lakh
- State License – for turnover between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 crore
- Central License – for large-scale food businesses or those operating in multiple states
3. Fill the Application Form (Form A/B)
We will assist you in accurately filling out the FSSAI registration or licensing form based on your business type.
4. Document Upload & Online Submission
We’ll scan, verify, and upload the necessary documents and submit your application online.
5. Payment of Government Fees
Pay the applicable FSSAI license fee. Receipt and acknowledgment will be provided.
6. Get Your FSSAI License Number
You will receive an acknowledgment number to track your license status online.
Documents Required for Food License
For Basic Registration (Small Food Business):
- Aadhar Card of Proprietor
- Passport-size Photograph
- Business Address Proof (Electricity Bill/ Rent Agreement)
- Nature of Business details (like menu/card/label)
- Declaration of Food Safety Management System
For State/Central License:
- Identity and Address Proof of Business Owner(s)
- Valid Business Registration Proof (GST, Trade License, etc.)
- Layout Plan of Premises
- List of Equipment and Machinery
- Food Category List
- Water Test Report (if applicable)
- NOC from Municipality or Local Authority
Note: The list of documents may vary depending on the type of food business and the level of license. Renewal must be done before expiry to avoid penalties.
Processing Time
- Processing time is 7–30 working days based on the type of license and verification process.
- You will receive your FSSAI Registration Certificate via email or can collect a printed copy from our center.
