What is a Driving License ?
A Driving License (DL) is an official document issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of India that authorizes an individual to operate one or more types of motor vehicles on public roads. It is mandatory for anyone driving a two-wheeler, four-wheeler, or commercial vehicle.
How to Apply for Driving License at Our CSC
1. Visit Our Center
Visit our Common Service Center (CSC) with your documents and we’ll guide you through the entire process.
2. Choose License Type
Select the license category you need:
- Learner’s License (LL)
- Permanent Driving License
- Commercial Driving License
- International Driving Permit
3. Fill Online Application
We’ll help you fill out and submit the application form on the official Sarathi Parivahan portal.
4. Document Upload & Appointment Booking
We’ll upload required documents and book an appointment at the nearest RTO for test (if required).
5. Appear for Driving Test
Attend your RTO driving test (only for permanent DL) on the scheduled date.
6. Get Your License
Once approved, the license will be issued and sent to your registered address or can be collected from the RTO.
Documents Required for Driving License
For Learner’s License:
- Aadhar Card
- Passport-size Photographs
- Age Proof (Birth Certificate/10th Marksheet/PAN Card)
- Address Proof (Aadhar/Voter ID/Passport)
- Medical Certificate (Form 1A) for applicants above 40 years
For Permanent License:
- Learner’s License
- Proof of Driving Test Clearance
- Recent Passport-size Photograph
- Application Form (Form 4)
Note: Learner's License is valid for 6 months and must be held for at least 30 days before applying for a permanent license.
Processing Time
- Learner’s License: Within 2–3 working days
- Permanent License: Within 7–10 working days after test clearance
